Treating individuals, couples & partners experiencing unhealthy patterns in a trauma-informed, empathic and solution oriented approach.
Jess treats individuals, couples and partners experiencing unhealthy patterns in a trauma-informed, empathic and solution oriented approach.
Jess works with couples and individuals impacted by betrayal, trust issues, and unhealthy patterns of behavior, particularly within their relationships.
Some of the challenges she sees include repeated infidelity, addiction, secrecy and lying, problematic sexual behavior such as sex and porn addiction, difficulty communicating openly and honestly, and unhealthy behaviors and mistrust resulting from past trauma. She helps her clients rebuild trust, open communication, and a healthier vision for their relationships and themselves, working toward relational and personal wellness and integrity.
Working from a humanistic and strengths-based lens, Jess employs an eclectic approach that is trauma- and neuroscience-informed, solutions-based, and draws from Acceptance and Commitment, Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative, and Psychodynamic therapies. Her clients explore their underlying needs, where unmet and unexpressed needs lead to problematic patterns, motivation to change those patterns, and core values, visions, and goals to guide them toward a more fulfilling future. As a certified yoga instructor and outdoor enthusiast, Jess also loves to bring movement and mindfulness into her work.
Jess holds an MA in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine, has passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor exam (NCMHCE), and is a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher. She comes to the psychotherapy field after a rewarding career as an organizational consultant. Her experience helping non-profit leaders identify needs and collaborate on shared visions, values, and goals has been instrumental in her work as a therapist.

New Release: The Sexual Integrity Workbook
-
PRE-ORDERS will be shipped on first publication run, set for April 30th, 2025.
Sobriety is cheap. Sustainability is everything. In The Sexual Integrity Workbook, esteemed professor and clinician Blair P. Bisher offers a blueprint for those seeking to overcome problematic sexual behaviors for the rest of their lives.
30+ new tools, exercises, sobriety plans, check-ins and reflection check-points to reinforce learning and promote personal growth.
Drawing from his extensive experience and research, Bisher presents a meticulously crafted 14-item curriculum designed to guide readers through the complexities of sexual addiction, porn addiction and adjacent problematic sexual behavior to land at a place of self-expertise where the individual can explain to themselves and their partners how destructive behavior patterns were offering a solution for them despite the consequences.
This solution-focused workbook not only unravels the root causes of such behaviors but also empowers individuals with practical tools and strategies to achieve lasting freedom – to be certain, not hopeful, that the future will be different and trust can be restored in their lives and relationships. Each chapter delves into critical aspects of sustainable sobriety, from understanding the addiction cycle, what underlying needs have yet to be resolved, resolved the public/private personality split that often occurs, helping the individual answer the question, “How could you do this?” and equally important, “How can I trust you again?”
Bisher's empathetic, empowering and person-centered approach ensures that readers feel supported and humanized throughout their journey. This book includes over 30 new tools and exercises as well as daily check-ins and reflection check-points to reinforce learning and promote personal growth between sessions. Whether you're personally struggling with sexual addiction, porn addiction, infidelity, other problematic sexual behavior or you are supporting a loved one on their path to recovery, "The Sexual Integrity Workbook" offers invaluable insights and guidance.
Embark on a transformative journey towards a life of integrity, purpose, and genuine connection.

Betrayal trauma and infidelity do not have to define your relationship. With professional guidance from Jess Benedetto at BPB Counseling, you can begin to repair the damage, rebuild trust, and rediscover intimacy.
Healing After Infidelity: How Couples Therapy Can Help Rebuild Trust and Intimacy
When faced with partner betrayal trauma due to infidelity, compulsive lying, or addictive behaviors, the emotional and relational consequences can feel devastating. At BPB Counseling, our partner and couples therapist Jess Benedetto specializes in guiding individuals and couples through the intricate journey of affair repair, rebuilding trust, and returning to intimacy.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: A Path to Healing
Jess utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based approach that encourages acceptance of challenging emotions and commitment to meaningful, value-driven actions. Instead of avoiding the pain and discomfort associated with betrayal, ACT helps clients face and tolerate their emotions, ultimately reducing reliance on harmful coping mechanisms like compulsive behaviors or repeated infidelity.
Mindfulness and Cognitive Diffusion
Mindfulness techniques form a core part of therapy at BPB Counseling, helping clients observe their thoughts and feelings without immediately reacting. This practice, known as cognitive diffusion, allows couples to slow down automatic responses that fuel distrust and further betrayal. By recognizing that you are not defined by every thought or urge, you can regain control and align with your core values.
Understanding the Stages of Change
Change isn’t linear, especially when recovering from betrayal trauma and infidelity. Jess emphasizes the trans-theoretical model, which assesses your readiness to embrace new behaviors and maintain healthier relationship patterns. Even if motivation fluctuates, our therapeutic approach supports your progress at every stage, helping you sustain positive change.
Harm Reduction and Relapse Prevention
Recovery from infidelity and betrayal trauma often involves ups and downs. At BPB Counseling, Jess helps clients anticipate and manage triggers, both internal (stress, insecurity, painful memories) and external (specific people or situations), reducing the likelihood of relapse into harmful behaviors. Mistakes along the way do not mean starting over—they're simply part of your journey toward healthier relationships.
Addressing Trauma and Its Impact
Trauma frequently underlies compulsive and harmful behaviors seen in infidelity and betrayal trauma. Jess provides a compassionate, trauma-informed therapeutic environment, fostering safety and trust. This approach allows couples and individuals to face, understand, and heal the deeper wounds that contribute to destructive relationship patterns.
Supporting Both Partners' Healing Journeys
Understanding that recovery looks different for everyone is crucial. While one partner may be ready to commit to change, the betrayed partner might just be beginning their healing process. Jess provides couples therapy that acknowledges and supports each partner's unique path and pace. Through empathy, patience, and professional guidance, couples can find renewed intimacy and rebuild trust.
